April 7, 2009. The article titled “A Hoops Legend” tells of one of the greatest basketball players to ever play in Bergen County and one of the greatest finishes to a Bergen Jamboree final ever in 1954.

Bill McCadney went on to star at Fordham University, where he was inducted into the college Hall of Fame. He moved to Puerto Rico after college and played in two Olympics for their National team in
1964 and 1968.

The great Hackensack High School basketball coach,
Howard Bollerman, upon retiring was asked the player he most enjoyed coaching and he replied, “Bill McCadney”.
